Septate Uterus: Prenatal Appointment, Week 19

For a normal person this Wednesday would mark the half way point in a pregnancy, for me I'm past that but there's no knowing how far past. But no matter what, the reality of it all really starts to set in around the halfway mark. During a fitful night of sleep last night (for Jr. and therefore me too), I began to worry about what we were going to do with Jr. during the day while I'm in the hospital. My husband can't skip all of his classes and work just because I had a baby. After all, he'll need to miss at least two days of classes/work in the spring for Holy Week. But I know that everything will work out, but it's all part of the pregnancy crazies.

As promised, here are the pictures from the anatomical scan. I think we got much better pictures with Jr., but I get to see this baby all the time, so win-win. As much of a pain as it is to go every two weeks just so they can say my cervix is a-okay, it's quite reassuring to see the baby moving. Movement and kicks have been fairly calm so far with this baby, which makes for a paranoid mother, but I refuse to get a Doppler. I think I would just go insane with one.

The images from this anatomical scan pale in comparison to Jr.'s. I'm not sure if it's their equipment or what, but Jr.'s pictures were very clear and just all around cuter. I already tell this baby often that they better hope that they are as cute as Jr., because otherwise they'll have to hear all the time how cute big brother is. They didn't do any 3D pictures, but I'm okay with that since I already have to pay for part of the transvaginal ultrasounds I'm having every two weeks.

Here we have a nice profile shot, and an excellent shot of the placenta (the grey mass above baby's face).

Another profile shot, just zoomed in a little.

A straight on shot of baby's face.

This is Jr.'s straight on shot. Definitely a lot better. In this baby's defense this shot was taken around 30 weeks.

Baby's left foot. I love the hand arrows pointing out the foot, as though we couldn't see that it was there.

Here is baby's left fingers curled in a little fist. I'm pretty sure the right fingers are on the bottom stretched out.

Here's another straight on face picture.

Well, I will see the doctor in two weeks for my October appointment and will give a full (although probably boring) account then.
