What I'm Loving... in the Bathroom

For this post we find ourselves in the vacation home of moms everywhere: the bathroom. The sweet haven where we sometimes manage to get 5 minutes of peace and quiet, but if it isn't quiet we at least don't have anyone touching us.

Whole Lot of Shakin' Going On!

I don't really care for diet food fads, and the idea of replacing a meal with a drink just seems silly. But when I decided to become a Beachbody coach one thing was very clear, I had to be proof of the product. You can't expect people to buy something from you if you don't use it. So, I had to start drinking Shakeology every day (see disclosure).

What I'm Loving... in the Kitchen

I decided to start this series in one of my favorite places: the kitchen. I really enjoy being in the kitchen whether it's cooking, washing dishes (yes, I really do like washing dishes), or hiding from the kids (kidding?). I also love things that make my life easier and the following are some of those things.

What I've been up to...

I've been away for awhile and it hasn't been because of a lack of ideas or a lack of time, but rather because of a lack of making time.

I started this blog as a release for me. Something for me to do. A way for me to use my brain. I still want this, but I also want to reach out to you.

A Mother's Sacrifice- The Food Edition

Not too long after Patrick came home from the NICU it was apparent that something wasn't right with his bowel movements. Basically mucus is bad and a green color can be a sign of blood in the breastfed baby's stool. Not to mention the smell. Breastfed baby's stool should usually smell pretty good, Patrick's was gross.

Reflection

It's obviously been awhile and I've thought about tons of things to write about, but none of it seems that important.

Septate Uterus/Every Pregnancy Ever: The waiting game begins

I am nearly 31 weeks pregnant, much earlier than anyone would want to have a baby, but I can't help feeling like the waiting game has begun. I had Jr. at 36 weeks and the nurse practioner has pointed out more than once that there is a chance that I will have this baby earlier. Obviously, I'm not wishing for this baby to come any earlier than 36 weeks, and full term would be a welcome miracle, but pregnancy hormones (or the mothering mind) won't let me not think about all of the possibilities.

Septate Uterus: Prenatal Appointment, 21 weeks

If I haven't already mentioned this, having a septate uterus (especially a suspected vascular septate uterus) means that there's a good chance that not a lot happens until near the end of the pregnancy. At the beginning there's some excitement about what side the baby is on and if it's your first pregnancy going over all the ins and outs of what could happen, what the game plan is, and what preterm labor will feel like. The nearer you get to your due date more things could possibly occur. They may detect some growth restriction, your child could be in a compromising position, like Jr., or you can have premature rupture of the membranes and/or preterm labor. In between there's a good chance that nothing much is happening, which is the lovely phase I currently find myself in.
